Choose JPG, PNG or WebP files. Batch processing supports up to 20 at once.

  2. 02
    We optimize locally

Your browser decodes, resizes if requested and re-encodes each image in a background worker.

  3. 03
    Download the result

Compare the measured sizes and save one result or download the completed batch.

Useful detail

Smaller files, sensible choices.

What does “Auto” do?

JPG stays JPG. PNG and WebP use WebP output because browser quality controls can reduce those files more predictably. You can keep the original format in Advanced settings.

About target size

The compressor searches several quality levels and keeps the highest-quality result at or below your target. Some targets cannot be reached without changing dimensions; when that happens, the result says so clearly.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

Is Nimble Image Compressor free?

Yes. You can compress single images or a batch without creating an account.

Are my images uploaded?

No. This compressor decodes and re-encodes supported images inside your browser. Your files are not sent to NimbleWebTools.

Which formats are supported?

The first release accepts JPG, PNG and WebP. Output support depends on your browser and is checked before processing.

Does compression reduce image quality?

Lossy compression trades a small amount of visual detail for a much smaller file. The target-size mode searches for the highest quality it can find under your chosen limit.

Can I compress multiple images?

Yes. Add up to 20 images and they will be processed one at a time to keep memory use predictable, especially on phones.

Does the compressor remove metadata?

Generated JPG and WebP files are re-encoded without copying the original metadata. This removes common EXIF data, including embedded location details.
